
AIIB’s Venture-afflicted People’s System Coverage Evaluate – Public Consultations

The Challenge-afflicted People’s Mechanism (PPM) is AIIB’s unbiased accountability mechanism. It was recognized by AIIB to offer an opportunity for an unbiased and neutral evaluation of submissions from Undertaking-influenced individuals who think they have been or are probably to be adversely affected by AIIB’s failure to carry out its Environmental and Social Coverage (ESP) when their problems are unable to be addressed satisfactorily through Project-amount grievance redress mechanisms or AIIB Management’s procedures. The PPM entered into impact on March 31, 2019. The PPM is guided by the Coverage on the PPM (PPM Plan) and Regulations of Method of the PPM (PPM Guidelines of Procedure).
PPM Policy Evaluation
The Coverage on Task-affected People’s System (PPM Coverage) was adopted on Dec. 7, 2018 and turned helpful on March 31, 2019.
As for every the PPM Coverage:
“The Coverage shall be reviewed no later than five years from its adoption. The MD-CEIU shall initiate and guidebook the evaluate. The evaluation shall choose into account the views collected by community consultations, including with Project-afflicted communities, AIIB Members, customers and other stakeholders” (PPM Coverage, Clause 11.4).
PPM evaluate is due in FY2024. PPM Plan Overview Roadmap was endorsed by the Plan and Tactic Committee (PSC) of AIIB’s Board of Administrators on Dec. 4, 2023.
Goal of the Overview
Goal of PPM Coverage is “to assess the success of the PPM and make tips to the Board of Directors (the Board) for enhancing the PPM’s visibility, accessibility, and responsiveness to Venture-afflicted Persons, and AIIB’s accountability.”
Stakeholder Consultations
Stakeholder consultations for PPM Coverage Evaluation will be inclusive and wide-primarily based. Consultations will purpose to engage AIIB Users, Purchasers (sovereign and nonsovereign), civil modern society, venture-impacted communities and AIIB operational team.
Both of those in-place and virtual consultations will be carried out for regional and nonregional customers. Critical documents will be translated in several languages. A summary report on stakeholder consultations will be issued.
Stakeholder Engagement Program
We are planning a detailed Stakeholder Engagement Approach as portion of the PPM Evaluate Tactic Paper that will be discussed with AIIB’s Board of Directors’ March 2024 Meeting. The Solution Paper will be disclosed publicly. The Stakeholder Engagement Prepare will consist of facts about in-nation and virtual stakeholder consultations.
